In May, 1965, Joe Allen opened the restaurant that bears his name... Originally the clientele was mostly “Chorus kids with bad knees.” The aim of his restaurant was, and remains, to serve good food at reasonable prices. The ambiance, while informal, certainly does not sacrifice professionalism. Today there are also Joe Allen’s in London, Paris, and Miami Beach. Here in New York, we are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week in addition to serving brunch on Sundays. Our regional American menu changes daily and has a range of choices.
